	Bayonets is a knife-like weapon attached to the muzzle of a rifle used for hand-to-hand combat. Bayonets are the small but very sharp armoury items. Bayonets are used as the protective weapon placed in pocket due to it's small size. Many socket bayonets were triangular in cross-section in order to provide sideways stability of the blade without much increase in weight. This design of bayonet did not include a handle to use the blade apart from the gun. The triangular bayonet also created wounds which were difficult to stitch when attended by a medic. As it is more difficult to stitch a three-sided wound than a two-sided one, thus making the wound more likely to become infected. In modern time bayonets are used for home decoration and as gift items.
