 Uttaranchal is famous for it's temple architecture, wood Carving, Paintings and traditional ornaments. Craftsman of Uttaranchal has mastered the art of wood carving. The artisans of this region design simple and beautiful designs and carving on Doors. Garhwal is famous for Mughal style of paintings. The famous Folk Art of Kumaon known as Aipan, has been practiced by the women folk of Kumaon. Another kind of painting is known as Peeth, in which floor of the seat of Gods and goddess is decorated with geometrical patterns.
One of the oldest traditions of Uttaranchal is and usually two different kind of paintings are followed. One for Kitchen and another for the ritual ceremonial places. Traditional goldsmiths of state make traditional ornaments using design and patterns which are thousands of year old. The ornaments are made in gold, silver & often copper is also overlaid in brass |
